Pakistan: Crisis Of A Frontline State

From the beginning of its creation Pakistan worked as a frontline state for its self and for others. The role of this front line state creates many difficulties for the people of Pakistan.  As world powers like US, UK supports the military dictators of Pakistan from back hands so that they could be able to achieve their objective in the region. All we know that these military dictators accept all orders of US, UK etc because they not only support them but also provide financial support to their rule. Americans are always interested in this region because they want to counter the military and economic power especially of China and Russia.  So in this regard they always try to make strong influence on the political and military power of this region like Pakistan. For that purpose they fully support military dictatorship through underhand’s because under dictatorship they have to speak to one instead to more  in case of democracy. Like the case of 9/11 where it is frequently quoted in the news paper that Musharraf government decided to support Americans in the war against terrorism on a single warning phone call. If some nation support other nation’s interests without keeping its own interests than this kind of support creates difficulties for them. The same is true for Pakistan because after the military cop by General Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan faced serious crisis. As Pakistan supports Americans and provide them its air bases for attack on Afghanistan. Because of this action Taliban who are in favor of Pakistan, now considers Pakistan and its military establishment their enemy. Taliban started gorilla war with America in Afghanistan and Pakistan law enforcing agencies in settled area of Pakistan. Suicide bombing, firing and blast on law enforcing agencies and people of Pakistan resulted not only loss of precious lives but also an economic loss to the country. This is all because of the wrong decisions of the military dictator, who works for western interest in seek of dollars. As General Pervez Musharraf was the army chief so his controversial decisions such as the removal of chief justice of Pakistan, Lal-Masjid operation, Assassination of Nawab Akbar Bugtti, war on terror, 12 may killings etc created the loss of public prestige of the military. In the history of Pakistan, military is considered as a sacred cow but Musharraf’s regime created a sense of disrespect of military among people. In 2007 lawyers emerge as a pressure force on the government for the restoration of Chief Justice, who were in exile in his house by the military ruler. Lawyer of all over the country started their movement for restoration of chief justice. At last the government announced the general election. Before the general election both political leader Nawaz Sharif PML (N) and Benazir Bhutto PPP came to country for taking part in general election but unfortunately Benazir Bhutto was assassinated during her election campaign in Rawalpindi. This assassination created a situation of chaos in country and in economic term Pakistan had to face a loss of billions of rupees. As Pakistan was already suffering from economic crisis and in this situation Benazir assassination dents Pakistan economy. Taliban accepted the responsibility of this situation. In the election PPP won but because of no settlement of power between PML (N) and PPP, than PML (N) prefer to sit in opposition. But in spite of the PPP government the Pakistan is still facing economic crisis, Law and order situation, people protests, hunger etc and this is because instead of resolving public issues the government is focusing on their own interests. As people are in more worst situation than from a Musaraff regime. The electricity crisis, corruption, hunger, inflation, high oil prices, unemployment, bribe etc had made people of Pakistan a physiological patient. There is not a single day passed by the people without protesting on the roads for their rights. These are the reasons on which the military dictator came to power with a promise to solve the problem but instead of solving the problem it had created more difficulty for Pakistan and its people. Like Bangladesh came into being because of military action by General Yahya Khan, kalashankof culture came into Pakistan during Zia regime and terrorism came into Pakistan during General Pervez Musharraf regime. So to solve problems we have to focus on solving these  public issues than find ways to fulfill  personal interests. In the end I want to say that nothing could be said about Pakistan’s  politics and batting. Both have the ability to turn tables  immediately. If it is democracy than it doest not means that it will remain there. Whenever dictator wants to come he will do so because he always has the same slogan “I have done it in larger interest of Pakistan”.
